Mt Eden Water Main Replacement

44 Apartments, 3 hose taps, and pool changing room, to have a new water supply pipe.

Some pipes were installed at the end of the building, to access the apartments.

The pipes were painted the same colour, as the wall before the scaffold was dismantled.

New pipe installed, painted the same colour as the building.

New water main installed under the drive way, Tar seal cut, and relayed.

Water main riser, feeding the complex and going off to each floor.

Water mains feeding the complex, tee off to each floor, and then each apartment.

Notice the By Pass at the base of the pipe, both water mains were live until the last unit was changed over.

This giving every unit uninterrupted water supply through the time of the work on site, (37 working days).

Every floor has an isolation valve, and every apartment has an isolation valve.

Making maintenance easy.

The best thing about this is, if you are getting flooded out from the apartment above, and no one is home, you can walk up stairs and turn the water off to the apartment above.

Water valves isolating each floor, are on a union system, making replacement easy.
